About the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Course

This session will provide an in-depth overview of the current clinical guidelines for the management of osteoarthritis, with specific application to physiotherapy practice in accordance with the Australian Clinical Practice Standards. Designed for physiotherapists seeking to enhance their clinical reasoning and intervention strategies, this session addresses the key principles of conservative and surgical care pathways for individuals with hip and knee osteoarthritis.

The session will begin with a review of the pathophysiology and clinical presentation of osteoarthritis, followed by a structured exploration of the latest national guidelines. Focus will be placed on the integration of exercise therapy, weight management, and joint protection strategies into everyday physiotherapy practice.

Participants will also learn how to design evidence-based exercise programs tailored to individual needs, and understand the physiotherapist’s role in optimizing outcomes during both pre-operative preparation and post-operative rehabilitation.

Clinical Mentor Mustufa Kagdi will facilitate the session, sharing clinical insights, evidence-based approaches, and practical tools to support best practice.
